Which country celebrates New Year the last?
The answer is the uninhabited islands of Baker and Howland, located southwest of Hawaii. As the last to see 2025, these remote islands will mark the final moment in the global celebration at 5.30 pm IST on January 1.
As per the information available, Howland Island and Baker Island are two uninhabited U.S. atolls in the Equatorial Pacific. They are situated close to one another. Both the islands are part of the larger political territory of the United States Minor Outlying Islands and they are also both part of the larger geographic grouping of the Phoenix Islands. Each is a National Wildlife Refuge managed by a division of Interior, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Before India, fireworks started at Australia’s Sydney Harbor Bridge and across the bay. More than a million people gathered at the iconic Sydney Harbor for the celebration. British pop star Robbie Williams led a singalong with the crowd.
