On Friday, a sudden change in the plan of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been reported by Mr. Raveen Thukral, media advisor to Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh. According to the new plan, Rahul Gandhi will now lead the tractor rallies in Punjab against the Centre's newly passed farm bills from October 4 to October 6.
Reportedly, CM Capt Amarinder Singh along with Punjab ministers, Congress MLAs, AICC general secretary in-charge of Punjab Affairs, Harish Rawat, and PPCC president Sunil Jakhar will participate in the protest.
Going by the statements of the Punjab Congress spokesperson, three-days tractor rallies will cover the distance of over 50 km across various districts and constituencies. These rallies will commence at around 11 am on each day in compliance with the Covid-19 protocols.
As per the detailed travel itinerary, on Day 1 of the protest rally i.e. October 4, it will cover the distance of 22 km. The rally will start with a public meeting at Badni Kalan (Nihal Singh Wala, district Moga) and then will move ahead via Lopon (Nihal Singh Waala). On reaching Jagraon, in district Ludhiana, the rally will be received at Chakar, Lakha, and Manoke. At last, a public meeting will be held at Jattpura (Raikot, district Ludhiana).
On October 5, the second protest rally will begin with a reception at Barnala Chowk, Sangrur, and would cover a distance of 20 km. From here, Rahul and his team will travel to Bhawanigarh by car and there will hold a public meeting before embarking on tractors to Samana, district Patiala. In the final stage, the rally will be received at Fatehgarh Channa and Bahmna and the day will end with a public meeting at Grain Market, Samana.
For the final day, the protest rally will begin from Dudhan Sadhan (Patiala) with a public meeting and then tractors will travel 10 km to Pehowa Border, from where Team Rahul is supposed to enter Haryana for a series of programme there.
