Farmers Union – Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), has called for a nationwide protest on October 26 seeking the arrest of Union MoS (Home) Ajay Mishra, in the connection of Lakhimpur violence. Farmers have been demanding both Ajay Mishra and Ashish Mishra's arrest in connection to the Lakhimpur violence in which 8 (4 farmers, 3 BJP workers and 1 journalist) were killed.
Amid this protest, travel would be massively affected as the farmers are expected to block roads and rails for a full day on October 26. Therefore, it is advised to plan or postpone their travel plans.

Earlier, on October 18, 2021, farmers declared a six hours 'Rail Roko' protest, for six hours starting from 10 am to 4 pm. The protest caused huge inconvenience to the passengers who were unaware of the protest and are stuck at the railway station.
In Punjab, Ludhiana, four of the railway tracks were blocked including Ludhiana, Ladowal, Dhandari and Sahnewal.
