Before departing from Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi played the drums and interacted with several members of the Indian community who had gathered to bid farewell to the Indian leader.
PM Modi was in Glasgow on a two-day visit for the United Nations COP26 World Leaders' Summit on climate change.
The Indian community at Glasgow greeted PM Modi with the sound of rhythmic drumming and amid the enthusiastic cheers and slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, a huge crowd dressed in Indian attire and turbans bid adieu to the prime minister with folded hands before he left for India. PM Modi was greeted at the premises of the hotel where he was staying.

PM Modi in return greeted them back and shook hands with them. He joined the members of the Indian community in the festivities and also played the drums along with the drummers for a few beats, who cheered him on.
In the video shared by ANI, PM Modi is seen interacting with several families in the crowd and affectionately patting children on the head and giving them autographs. He also reached out to some older kids giving them hi-fives.
During PM Modi's visit to Glasgow for the UN COP26 Summit, he declared that India is committed to climate action, including targets to accomplish net-zero emissions by 2070 alongside meeting 50% of the country's energy requirements through renewable energy by 2030.

Several bilateral meetings were also undertaken by the prime minister on the sidelines of the Summit with his counterparts from the UK, Israel, Nepal, Italy, and France, among others, during his visit to Scotland. While on Sunday and Sunday, PM Modi also took part in the G20 summit in Rome.
