PM Modi to unveil 63-feet-tall statue of Pandit Deen Dayal in Varanasi on Sunday

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil and lay the foundation stone for developmental projects worth more than Rs 1,000 crore at his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

Modi will also unveil a 63-feet-tall statue of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay apart from giving green signal to the Kashi Mahakal Express which will create a link between Varanasi, Ujjain and Omkareshwar.

In a statement issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), PM Modi, after arriving in Varanasi, will first participate in the closing ceremony of centenary celebrations of Shri Vishwardaya Gurukul and will also be releasing the translated version of the Shri Siddhanth Shikhamani Granth in 19 languages.

In Chandauli, Modi will also be unveiling 63-feet-tall statue of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. In the construction of this statue, more than 200 artisans contributed for more than a year. PM Modi will also deliver a speech after unveiling the statue.

At the Benaras Hindu University (BHU), Modi will be inaugurating a 430-bed super speciality hospital and a 74-bed psychiatric hospital.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation's (IRCTC) Kashi Mahakal Express will be flagged off by PM Modi through video link which will be the first overnight journey private train in the country. This train will connect Varanasi with other two important pilgrims centres - Ujjain and Omkareshwar.

PM Modi, prior heading back to Delhi, will also inaugurate the 'Kashi Ek, Roop Anek' exhibition at Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul where he will also interact with buyers and artisans coming from different countries. As per the information released by the Varanasi administration, PM Modi will arrive at around 10 am on Sunday and will be staying for almost six hours.

During his visit on Sunday, PM Modi will inaugurate more than 30 projects and lay foundation stones for at least 14 projects. UP CM Yogi Adityanath, in order to review the preparations ahead of PM Modi's visit, will be arriving in Varanasi on Saturday evening and will visit the trade facility centre to hold a meeting with the officials. 

Yogi Adityanath will also be visiting Padav in Chandauli to take stock of arrangements where PM Modi will unveil Deen Dayal statue and will launch various developmental projects.
