As per sources, Poonam Pandey's death news has been planted by her PR team so that the actress can spread awareness on the upcoming World Cancer Day which is on February 4. Not only this, a video has been shared by a film-critic Kamaal R Khan in which Poonam Pandey was seen partying just a few days back, and in the video the former Lock Upp contestant was heard saying that she is wondering to surprise her fans.

At around 11:30 am, Poonam Pandey's PR Team member named Parul Chawla reportedly confirmed her death due to Cervical Cancer. A report suggests that Nikita Sharma, a woman claiming to be Poonam's manager, issued a press note. In this press note, it was said that Poonam is no more in this world due to cervical cancer. It was also written in the press note that noone should take cervical cancer lightly. A phone number was also written in the press note. The report stated that after being contacted on the mentioned number, it turned out to be fake. The man who picked up the call is from West Bengal. He said that he has no relation with Poonam Pandey. He has received hundreds of calls since morning.
Not only this, but a source present in Kanpur revealed that the body of any woman named Poonam Pandey has not been found. He had also reached the Regency Cancer Hospital there, but no information was received from there. As per the report, Poonam's ancestral home is in Kalyanpur, Kanpur. When the source visited at the place, the information also turned out to be wrong.
After this, Poonam's driver Mehboob was contacted by a media portal. Mehboob was quoted saying, "Till two days ago madam was absolutely fine and healthy. They sent us on leave for two days.
