Popular Punjabi singer Diljan died in a road accident at around 3.34 am on Tuesday. He was on his way to Kartarpur from Amritsar airport in his car late at night and the accident occurred at Jandiala Guru. The car is said to have collided with a divider, sending a wave of sadness in Kartarpur, which is Diljan’s native.
Diljan had returned from Canada and was on his way to his home in Kartarpur.
According to the reports, the singer's car collided with a divider near the Jandiala Guru Bridge on the Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, Inspector Yadavindra Singh, in-charge of Jandiala Guru police station, said, adding that his speeding car after it reached the bridge, the car became uncontrolled and overturned after hitting the divider. Passeerbyes came for the relief operations and Diljan died before he was taken to the hospital.

Diljan’s father Madan Madar informed that Diljan’s new song was scheduled to be released on April 2 and Monday, he went to Amritsar in his Mahindra KUD vehicle to attend a meeting in this regard.
For the uninformed, Diljan was victorious in the singing competition between India and Pakistan in the TV program Surkshetra, which got him fame overnight. He was counted among the finest singers in the country and had sung several songs in Bollywood and Punjabi industry.
