Two youths from Punjab living in Portland, City in Oregon, USA were shot dead on Wednesday outside a shopping mall. The two youths who were killed in Portland were brothers and had gone to the USA from Bidhipur village of Sultanpur Lodhi block of Kapurthala district. They were identified as Dilraj Pal Singh and Guriikbal Singh. Notably, the accused who shot the Punjabi brothers belongs to the same community. Currently, he has been arrested and the American authorities are probing the matter. The family of the killed brother has been devastated by the incident in Bidhipur village of Sultanpur Lodhi block of Kapurthala district
As per Bidhipur village's Sarpanch Ranjit Singh, "Dilraj Pal Singh, and Gurikbal Singh had gone to America. Their work going well there. But, we came to know that they were having some differences with someone related to money. Yesterday, from 2 to 2:30 pm when they came out of the store they were shot down. They died on the spot. The elder son got married a few years back and had a 5-month-old baby right now. The younger brother was unmarried."

According to the information given by the relatives, both the brothers were having a dispute with the store partner Due to enmity, the said person reached outside the shopping mall of Portland (America) and allegedly attacked both the brothers with dozens of accomplices. Both brothers Dilraj Singh and Gurikbal Singh died on the spot. The deceased Dilraj Singh (32) was married and has a 6-month-old son and Gurikbal Singh (26) was engaged and was about to get married later this year. Both the brother were living in the US for many years. While the elder one was living for the past 10 years, the younger one was living from 6 years.
