India has recently received a treatment for type 2 diabetes, which also helps in weight loss. Eli Lilly’s Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) has officially launched in India.

The drug has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). It has been anticipated that it will transform the treatment for diabetes and obesity in the country. The health authorities and experts have been counting this launch as a powerful solution for the rising cases of diabetes and obesity in the country

The possible price of Mounjaro in India - 

The weekly injections of Mounjaro will be available in India with different doses and prices. The capped prices for the injections are as follows: 

2.5 mg injection - ₹3,500, and 
5 mg injection – ₹4,375.

It is a once-a-week treatment, therefore the monthly treatment of the drug will cost between ₹14,000 and ₹17,500. Meanwhile, if the price is compared to the US market, it ranges between ₹86,000 to ₹1,00,000.
