The shooting of South superstar Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer film 'Adipurush' has started in Mumbai from Tuesday. Prabhas himself has announced this by sharing a post on social media. Prabhas has also shared a poster with this post. The film, directed by Om Raut, is a 3D action drama that features Prabhas as protagonist Adipurush and Saif as the villain named Lankesh.
Preparations were in progress for this film which has been in the news for a long time. 'Adipurush' being directed under Om Raut is based on Ramayana. In this film, Prabhas will be seen in the role of Lord Ram and Saif Ali Khan will play the character of Ravana. According to reports, the makers started work on the motion capture of the film 15 days in advance. A photo of which was also shared on social media.

VFX will be used extensively in the film. It is being said that the audience has not seen such a VFX in any Indian film so far, as will be seen in this film. Makers started test shooting of the film on 19 January. Test shooting of the film was being done in closed studios so that the whole practice could be done before the actual shooting.
The film, being made in 3D format, will be released in five languages Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Apart from Om Raut, Bhushan Kumar, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair are also producing the film. According to the news, the film will be made on a mega-budget of 350 to 400 crores.
