On the occasion of Praksh Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday, Sikh Jatha every year visits Nankana Sahib in Pakistan to pay their obeisance. This time shocking information has come to fore that the Jatha which went to Pakistan for the same purpose faced a lot of problems because of the mismanagement of Pakistan Government and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (PSGPC).
A video has surfaced on social media platforms which was made by a devotee who was a member of the group. Video shared shows group sitting on roadside and as per the information the buses were not made available for them from 5 in morning to 8:30 in night. Devotee further added that group members have not eaten or drunk anything from a really long time. This issue was then raised by the head and speaker of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The leaders here have demanded to send message to SGPC and Pradhan Shingara Singh has demanded to convey this video to Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) members and Principal Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. The Sikh Jatha head said that if such kind of arrangements are made there is no use in sending the batch.
Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal also tweeted on the same issue from his Twitter account. He urged Minister of External Affairs to look into matter and find a solution to the same. He has also requested that for the time being arrangements to provide Jatha with food and something to drink should also be made.
Now, SGPC says that some members of the group had to face problems due to the start of ceremony at the border. Travel was affected only for some time. SGPC has also requested to PSGPC to solve the problems of Sikh pilgrims. Reportedly, batch of 910 pilgrims left for Pakistan on Sunday morning itself.
