Prithviraj Sukumaran is a well-known and talented Mollywood actor who has appeared in a number of memorable films. The actor, who comes from a family of actors, has shown his acting abilities time and time again. He is renowned for films such as Vargam, Classmates, and Vaasthavam, among others. Sukumaran is diverse not just in his acting, but also in his personal life. He is a director, producer, and playback vocalist in addition to being an actor. He has appeared in over 100 films and is a three-time laureate of the Kerala State Film Awards. He was also the recipient of a National Film Award.

Prithviraj made his Tamil cinema debut with the 2005 film Kana Kandaen, which starred Kana Kandaen as the major antagonist. Since then, he's been in nine Tamil films, including Mani Ratnam's Raavanan, in which he co-starred with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He even made his Telugu debut in 2010 with the Manmohan-directed Police Police.
When Prithviraj won the Kerala State Award for Best Actor in 2006 for his portrayal as Balachandran Adiga in Vaasthavam, he surpassed Mohanlal's record of 20 years. He became the award's youngest winner.
Prithviraj's singing career began with his 2009 film Puthiya Mugham. Following that, he sang a number of songs, nearly all of which became popular with the general public.
Prithviraj married Supriya Menon, a BBC India reporter, on April 25, 2011. Alankrita, the couple's daughter, was born in 2014.
Under the name August Cinemas, Prithviraj became a co producer in 2011, alongside cinematographer-turned-director Santhosh Sivan, Tamil actor Arya, and actress Shaji Nadeshan.
Aside from Aiyyaa, he also starred with Arjun Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in the Yash Raj film Aurangzeb. He also appeared in the film Naam Shabana as the antagonist.
In 2019, he made his directorial debut with Mohanlal's action film Lucifer. It was the most successful Malayalam film of all time. L2:Empuraan, the second instalment of the trilogy, is currently under production.
