WhatsApp, Facebook, Privacy, Will Cathcart- True Scoop

After the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) objected to the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, the messaging app has issued a clarification that it stays end to end encrypted.

Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp writes in a thread of tweets, " I've been watching a bunch of discussion this week about the privacy policy update we’re in the process of making @WhatsApp and wanted to share some thoughts."

Cathcart further mentions that the messages and calls will remain end to end encrypted. He also writes that they have updated their policy to be more transparent and to better describe optional people-to-business features. He adds, "This update describes business communication and doesn't change WhatsApp's data sharing practices with Facebook. It doesn't impact how people communicate privately with friends or family...in the world."

CAIT has demanded to restrict WhatsApp from implementing its new policy update. The Facebook family app also faced flak on social media by activists and users alike. It trended on Twitter when the platform announced privacy policy update.

According to media platforms and expert reports, WhatsApp for the time being is encrypted that means your files, calls, messages or chats are private and safe.
