The Railway Ministry has approved the long-awaited Amritsar-New Delhi route for the Vande Bharat Express train. In this regard, the railway headquarters has prepared a proposal, which has been sent to the Ambala and Firozpur divisions.
According to the information, the Vande Bharat Express train, which will run from Amritsar, has been allowed stoppages only at Ludhiana and Ambala stations. There are no stoppages at major stations like Jalandhar city and Jalandhar Cantt. This decision has sparked widespread dissatisfaction among the people.
On the Amritsar route, the Vande Bharat train will only stop at Ludhiana and Ambala stations. There are no stoppages at major stations like Jalandhar city and Jalandhar Cantt.
Earlier, the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express train also did not have a stoppage at Jalandhar Cantt railway station, causing disappointment among the locals.
The people of Jalandhar are demanding a stoppage for the Vande Bharat Express at Jalandhar Cantt railway station. This will benefit people in cities and villages around Jalandhar.
Traveling to New Delhi from here is currently a hassle, especially for residents of upscale areas and rich families.
It is often cumbersome for people from Jalandhar to travel to New Delhi due to the absence of direct trains from Jalandhar Cantt station to New Delhi. The proposal to stop the Vande Bharat Express at Jalandhar Cantt railway station has been sent to the railway ministry.
It is worth mentioning that Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala are the central points in these cities. It would be convenient for people to catch the train from here to New Delhi.
Therefore, the railway department needs to ensure that this stoppage is provided at Jalandhar Cantt station. This move will increase the revenue of the railway and will also benefit the passengers.
Currently, people from Jalandhar face a lot of inconvenience due to the absence of a direct train from here to New Delhi.
The Rail Minister will address the issue once again: Shushil Rinku.
On the other hand, Jalandhar’s Member of Parliament, Shushil Kumar Rinku, said that two Vande Bharat Express trains run from Amritsar, one of which should have a stoppage at Jalandhar city or Cantt railway station.
He said that he had requested this from the Rail Minister earlier, but no steps have been taken yet. He emphasized that this issue will be raised with the Rail Minister once again.
The train is scheduled to depart from Amritsar at 7:55 AM and reach New Delhi at 5:10 PM, while the return journey will start from New Delhi at 1:40 PM and reach Amritsar at 6:50 PM. In comparison, the Shatabdi Express takes about 6 hours and 7 minutes from New Delhi to Amritsar.
