Sonakshi Sinha married her long-time boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal on 23rd June. Initially, her father, Shatrughan Sinha, was against the marriage; however, later he agreed to Sonakshi's decision. Now, the couple's marriage seems to be stirring up a new controversy. Recently, a worker of Bihar's Hindu Shivbhavni Sena has linked the marriage to love jihad and threatened that if Shatrughan Sinha does not reconsider his daughter's marriage, Sonakshi will not be allowed to enter Bihar.
Recently, a member of Hindu Shivbhavni Seva, Luv Kumar Singh alias Rudra, published a poster in which he threatened that he would not allow Sonakshi Sinha to enter Bihar. He has also linked Sonakshi Sinha's marriage to love jihad. It is written in the poster that the marriage of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal is promoting love jihad, mentioning it as an attempt to spread Islamic hatred throughout the country. Luv Kumar Singh also mentioned Shatrughan Sinha should reconsider his decision to marry or else change the name of his son Luv Kush and his house Ramayan immediately, considering this as an insult to the Hindu religion.
According to the poster, Hindu Shivbhavani Seva is allegedly preventing Sonakshi Sinha from entering Bihar. It is claimed that her marriage to someone from a different religious background is part of a conspiracy to weaken Hinduism, and there are concerns about the alleged promotion of "love jihad". There were also reports suggesting that Sonakshi planned to convert to Islam after her marriage. However, these reports were denied by Zaheer Iqbal's father, Iqbal Ratannasi, in an interview. He stated that Sonakshi had no plans to change her religion after marriage.
It is important to note that Sonakshi had a civil marriage on 23 June with her long-time boyfriend. Following this, the couple held a reception at the Bastian Resort in Dadar, Mumbai. The wedding date was chosen as 23 June because both of them had fallen in love on the same date 7 years ago. Sonakshi revealed this while sharing her wedding picture.
