Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), the umbrella body of 40 protesting farmers' unions, on Wednesday announced that protesting farmers will march to Parliament in the first fortnight of May.

Besides farmers and labourers, women, Dalit, Adivasi, Bahujan, unemployed youth and every section of the society will participate in the march to the Parliament, the farmers union said. The body has ensured that the march, which will be organized in protest of the three contentious farm laws, will be completely peaceful.

Farmers have been protesting against the centre’s three farm laws since late September 2020, and have remained stern with not going back unless these laws are repealed. Recently, the farmers celebrated Holi ka Dahan by burning the farm laws copies.
