PSEB Class 8 Results 2025: Girls outperform boys, Hoshiarpur boy tops state with 100% marks

The D-Day for thousands and lakhs of students of Punjab arrived on Friday as the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) released the results of class 8th today. PSEB Class 8th Result 2025 started trending on trends after the board announced the results. Students who have appeared in this exam can check their results on the official website pseb.ac.in. PSEB exams were conducted between 19 February to 7 March 2025. PSEB Class 8 candidates have to enter their registration number/roll number and password to check the scorecard. 

As per reports, out of 2,90,471 candidates from 10,471 schools, 282,627 students have been promoted, achieving a pass percentage of 97.30. Puneet Verma, son of Ashok Verma and Neetu Verma, from Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School in Hoshiarpur, secured 100% marks and topped the exam. Navjot Kaur, daughter of Karanjit Singh and Veerpal Kaur, from Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School in Faridkot, also achieved 100% marks to secure second place.

As per reports, supplementary exams for non-promoted candidates will be held in June 2025.

As per the data issued by the Education Board, Amritsar has secured first place with 98.85% pass percentage. On number 2 is Pathankot with a pass percentage of 98.76%, followed by Gurdaspur (98.73%), Kapurthala (98.50%), Ferozepur (98.26%), S B S Nagar (98.13%), Tarn Taran (98.04%), Hoshiarpur (98%), Faridkot (97.98%) and Mansa (97.97%).

S A S Nagar in Mohali district, where the PSEB headquarters is located, ranked 11th with a pass percentage of 97.63%. With a pass percentage of 95.61%, Sri Muktsar Sahib district came last at the 23rd position.

It is pertinent to mention here that girl students have outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 98.9% against latter’s 96.49%. Also, all nine transgender students who had appeared for the exams, passed — a 100% pass rate in this category.
