During the 19th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis suffered a nasty collision while playing.

While diving to stop a boundary in the 7th over of Peshawar Zalmi’s inning, Faf du Plessis collided with his team member Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hasnain. While fielding du Plessis’s head hit the knee of Hasnain and he fell to the ground.
According to the Pakistan media, Faf du Plessis has been shifted to the hospital for tests and scans. After the collision he was not part of the match against Peshawar Zalmi, was seen sitting in the dugout. The impact of the collision could be seen on his neck in the pictures.
After the collision of former South Africa captain, his wife had her heart in the mouth and she shared his picture and said, “This is killing me. Surely should be checked in the hospital!”
Faf du Plessis re-joined the PSL 2021 on June 9, which was resumed in the UAE after being suspended due to Covid-19.
As far as the match was concerned, Saim Ayub played as a substitute for Faf du Plessis. In the absence of du Plessis, Ayub opened the batting with Usman Khan. The left-hander notched 35 runs off 31 balls.
