Due to the Lok Sabha elections 2024, June 1 has been declared as a holiday in Punjab. During this period, there will be a paid holiday in government, non-government offices, banks, institutions, factories, and shops. It has been said in the order that this decision was taken so that people could vote in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the state of Punjab. This time the Election Commission has set the target of voting beyond 70. For this, many steps are being taken by the Election Commission.
Liquor vends will remain closed even before the voting from 6:00 pm on 30th May 2024 to 6:00 pm on 1st June 2024 and on the counting day of 4th June 2024 (whole day). This decision has also been taken by the Commission. During this period, liquor will not be served in hotels, restaurants, and pubs.
During this period, liquor will not be sold in any hotel, restaurant, club, community center, CSD canteen, shops, or any public place. Storage of liquor will be strictly controlled. Ban on storage of liquor in unlicensed premises to be strictly enforced.
