While planning to rob a petrol pump in the Sinhagad Road area in Maharashtra's Pune a gang of four were apprehended by the city police. Reportedly, Pune Police also discovered firearms from the possession of arrested people.
The accused have been identified as Kiran Khawale (22) of Nigdi, Williams Peter (22) of Haveli, Vaibhav Khirit (24) of Haveli, and Akash Mate (24) of Kolhewadi.
According to the reports, the police team received information regarding the robbery plan. The squad decided to act on the tip-off following which it apprehended the four people on the night
of August 13.
The police have seized three country-made pistols, five live cartridges and sharp weapons found in their possession.
According to a statement released by the police on August 15, the four accused and one more accomplice plotted to rob a gas station and a jewellery store in the Sinhagad Road area. Nevertheless,
they were apprehended with guns and three motorcycles.

The case has been lodged under section 399, 402 of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Indian Arms Act, according to police havaldar Santosh Kshirsagar of the crime branch.
In another incident, two men riding a scooter robbed a petrol pump attendant at Pune’s Lohegaon on the night of August 12. The duo reportedly looted Rs 16,000 by threatening Atish
Kamble 21 (petrol pump attendant) with a sickle.
According to FIR registered by Kamble, two men reached the petrol pump to fill their scooter with fuel worth Rs 400. When he asked them to pay, one of them pulled out a sickle and threatened
him with dire consequences and snatched the cash from him.
