The twists & turns of the Pune Porsche accident case are far from over. With the minor accused in juvenile detention and his builder father Vishal Agarwal & grandfather on Police remand, the Kalyani Nagar Accident case has brought attention to how money and power can be abused. After the public outrage on social media as well on the ground, the Pune Police have intensified its investigation in the Pune Porsche Accident Case. Now, in the latest development, two doctors have been arrested for allegedly manipulating the blood test report of the 17-year-old, whose late-night drunk drive left two 24-year-old software engineers dead.
As per reports, the two doctors are Dr Ajay Tawade and Dr Hari Harnor. They worked in Sasoon Hospital and they have been arrested by the Pune Crime Branch. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar informed the media that samples collected at the hospital and sent for forensic tests were not of the juvenile accused at all. "This means the sample was replaced." Below is what Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said on Pune doctors arrest-
"Around 11 am on May 19, a blood sample (of the teen) that was taken at Sassoon Hospital was thrown in a dustbin and the blood sample of another person was taken and sent to the forensic lab. CMO Srihari Halnor replaced this blood sample. During the investigation, we found Srihari Halnor replaced this on the instructions of Ajay Tawade, HOD of the forensic medicine department at Sassoon Hospital," said Pune CP.
Not only this, the Crime Branch seized both the doctors' phones. In the investigation, it was found that Dr Tawade and the teen accused's father spoke over the phone on the day of the accident.
For those who are unaware, reports had claimed that the Pune teen, who is now at an observation home, had tested negative for alcohol. However, CCTV footage from one of the bars he visited that night showed him drinking with friends.
Notably, his negative alcohol report played a crucial role due to which the Juvenile Justice Board granted him bail in just 15 hours over simple terms and conditions that included writing an essay on road accidents.
Before this, the Pune CP had suspended two cops from Yerwada police station as they delayed relaying the information to senior officers.
