In a shocking incident in the Khurdpur area near Adampur, Jalandhar, Punjab, the bodies of two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of Punjab Police were found under suspicious circumstances. The deceased, ASI Pritam Das and ASI Jeevan Lal were the residents of Hoshiarpur. They were chasing a theft suspect before their mysterious disappearance. Their bodies were discovered late Monday night near Khurdpur railway station.

The two ASIs were posted with the Kapurthala police. They were last seen chasing a minor theft suspect, who escaped during their journey from Adampur to Hoshiarpur. Their bodies were recovered near a newly constructed building at Khurdpur railway station, as reported by the station master. Both ASIs had brought two theft suspects to the Jalandhar court earlier on Monday for a hearing.

The officers stopped their bike during the journey, allowing the minor suspect to escape. When the officers went missing, colleagues tried contacting them to no avail. Their bodies were eventually discovered late at night near the Khurdpur railway station. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the deaths, with further details pending.

As the investigation unfolded, police discovered that the two deceased officers were carrying Punjab Police ID cards, confirming their identities. Forensic teams were immediately called to the scene, and the case is being investigated from both murder and suicide angles. Early findings suggest possible poisoning, but no official statement has been released by the authorities so far.
