Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday finally allocated portfolios to newly-inducted ministers. The announcement comes hours after there were rumors of another tussle brewing within the congress over Home Ministry portfolio.
Reportedly, Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was eyeing on home ministry. His loyalists argue that since Randhawa was in a narrow race with Channi for the post of Chief Minister, he should be given the home minister portfolio.
Punjab PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu, on the other hand, believes that the home ministry should remain under the control of CM Channi.
Meanwhile, it’s Deputy CM Randhawa who has been now given the charge of Home Ministry.
