Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has indirectly criticized former CM of Punjab Charanjeet Singh Channi claiming him to be a self-proclaimed leaders of weaker and underprivileged sections of society for ruining the future of the people by taking scholarship money meant for students. Speaking at a function organized by Sri Guru Ravidass Sadhu Sampraday Society, Mann said that corrupt leaders who had misused public funds for their own benefit would be held accountable for their actions.
Although he did not mention Channi by name, Mann's comments appeared to be a veiled attack on the former CM who had portrayed himself as a champion of the downtrodden and was accused of siphoning off scholarship money meant for the underprivileged sections of society.
Mann further highlighted the initiatives his government had taken, such as free power for residents, providing quality education, and setting up Aam Aadmi Clinics to provide quality health services. The Chief Minister also criticized Sukhbir Singh Badal, the leader of the opposition, for his negative statements against the state government.
