The newly appointed Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi along with his deputy Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa reached Jalandhar to pay obeisance in Dera Sachkhand Ballan.
In view of his arrival in the city, the security was beefed up by police and camp administrators.
After paying obeisance and praying for the wellbeing of Punjab and its people, CM Channi addressed the crowd gathered at Dera Sachkhand. Thanking party leader Rahul Gandhi and his supporters,
Channi said Congress high command made an “aam aadmi” CM.
During the event, CM Channi remarked that he reached these heights only because of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar and his commendable efforts. Paying tribute to Babasaheb, Channi announced
building a museum dedicated to Dr B.R Ambedkar and promised to pay Rs 100 crore for the cause.

He remarked, the museum will display the life story, struggles, achievements of Dr Ambedkar along with his contribution to the nation. Meanwhile, Channi revealed that state administration
is planning to build a management college as a tribute to Babasaheb.
Last time, when Channi visited Sachkhand Ballan along with PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, he had promised 100 acres of land for Dera.
After addressing the crowd at Dera Ballan, CM proceeded to visit DAV University.
Today, earlier Channi along with his deputies Randhawa and Soni, and Navjot Singh paid obeisance at Golden Temple in Amritsar.
