Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday held its first meeting with the Administrative Secretaries. Addressing the officials, he said, “I am soft and gentle but please don’t mistake my gentleness for something that will let inaction go unnoticed. I will act against those who won’t act for the common people”.
CM Channi said that although his government had only four months left, but he wants to serve the people of Punjab to his fullest ability. He asked the officials also to follow same and work to the best of their ability.
He further said that under his leadership, Corruption and wrongdoings would not be tolerated at any cost. “Common man’s works have to be done on top priority”, he added.
He also appealed to the officials to work for everyone beyond caste, creed and community and make sure that every person should get justice.
Chief Minister also asked the secretaries to prepare a 100-day roadmap for each department and submit it to the Chief Secretary. He said the roadmap will be then monitored by the CS.
“Complaints of corruption during transfers would not be tolerated. I am happy with my little resources, so I make it clear that I don’t want anything from anyone except hard work”, CM Channi said, while adding that if anyone approaches govt officials for any wrong work with his name, then they should immediately report it to him.
He asked the secretaries to give due respect to Ministers, MLAs and Elected representatives and said that they should all try to work together to change the system for better.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary assured CM Channi that his message is loud and clear and they will try to live to his expectations.
