Punjab CM slams BSP leadership for selling party to Akali Dal

Punjab Chief Minister Mr Charanjit Singh Channi today said that BSP leadership has backstabbed the Schedule caste brethren by selling the party to Shiromani Akali Dal.

Punjab Chief Minister Mr Charanjit Singh Channi today said that BSP leadership has backstabbed the Schedule caste brethren by selling the party to Shiromani Akali Dal. 

Addressing the gathering during state level function to mark development of the district here at Partapura grain market, the Chief Minister said that BSP no longer represents ideology of Babu Kanshi Ram, which aimed at empowering the SC brethren. He said that BSP has sold 15 of the total 20 seats allotted to them to Akali Dal. CM Channi said that the BSP leadership has made itself a slave of Akali Dal.

Training guns against against AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister dared him to explain why Punjabis should believe him when his own flock doesn’t have faith in him. He said that three out of four AAP MPs elected in 2014 have left the party fold and even 11 out of 20 MLAs  elected in 2017 have left AAP. CM Channi said that this is indicative of the fact that AAP is a house of cards that is bound to doom in a day or two. 

The Chief Minister said that Kejriwal has no basic knowledge about state due to which he doesn’t know that in Punjab every youth has to do multitasking everyday for running his household. CM Channi said that Kejriwal don’t even know how to milk a cow what does he knows about problem of state. Terming AAP as modren East India company he said that AAP aims at plundering the wealth of state. 

The Chief Minister further said that an elite and unholy nexus of politicians across party line had excluded power from common man just to loot Punjab. He said that the members of this elite group have a common bond in form of their own vested interests and loot of the state adding that they have been ill fully doing this so by enjoying the fruits of power in game of musical chairs where the ruler changes after every five years but power remains in their hands. However, CM Channi said that now this nexus has been broken and the power is with the common man.

The Chief Minister said that as he has himself faced the hardships so he is well aware of the woes of common man. CM Channi said that due to this reason only he is ensuring optimal utilisation of all government funds for well being of poor and common man. He said that this duty will continue till he is on this seat. 

The Chief Minister said that people of Punjab know that Petrol and diesel was cheapest in Punjab in entire northern region and likewise rates of power are cheapest in the entire country. Listing the several pro-people initiatives taken by his government, he said that Power bill arrears worth Rs. 1500 crore have been waived, Power rates for domestic consumers have been reduced by Rs. 3 per unit, Bills to the tune of Rs. 1200 crore have been waived off in respect of motors in rural areas, water charges brought down to Rs. 50 and Rates for sand have been reduced a lot.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister announced grants worth Rs 200’crore for Jalandhar including RS 11.46 crore newly built Dr BR Ambedkar college at Buta Mandi, RS 2.71 crore for Satguru Kabir Bhawan, Rs 20.99 for storm water sewerage at Basti Danishmanda and Sports hub at 78 crore In Burlton park. He also announced to waive off Rs 64 crore arrear of Own fund society. He said that Sri Guru Ravi Dass Bani research centre will come up over 100 acres in Village Ballan. Likewise, CM Channi also announced to set up Research centre on Bhagwad Geeta at Patiala. 

The Chief Minister also announced accord status of Sub Division to Kartarpur and Adampur, a government college for Adampur besides setting up chair on name of Baba Sain ji and Baba Namdev ji.

In his address Cabinet Minister Mr Pargat Singh said that Punjab is passing through crucial period and we are fortunate that in this hour Mr Charanjit Singh Channi is heading the state. He said 90 days rule of Channi government has proved that lot can be done even in short period. Mr Pargat Singh said that Sukhbir Singh Badal and Arvind Kejriwal are both liars who are trying to mislead state.

The Minister further said that Captain’s link with BJP and Akalis have been exposed as he had connived with them to harm interests of state. He said that Punjabis will teach this trio a lesson for treachery with the state. Mr Pargat Singh asked the people to give fulsome support to Channi government for sustaining the pace of development.

In his address Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh slammed previous Akali BJP government for derailing the progress in state. He said that Punjab had always witnessed progress and prosperity during Congress regime. Chaudhary Santokh Singh also hailed the Chief Minister for taking several pro people initiatives. 

Addressing the gathering former MP Mr Sunil Jakhar said that first bugle against draconian farm laws was blowed by Punjab farmers and ultimately NDA government had to take that decision back. He said that history has been changed by the Punjab farmers through this historically victory. Mr Jakhar said that all the farmers had buried their differences to win the battle.

The former Lok Sabha MP said that for securing the interests all the Punjabis especially the Congressmen  have to unite. He said that winning the general elections in 2024 can be possible only if Punjab wins 2022 polls for which all the Congress leaders have to unite. Mr Jakhar urged the people not to vote by falling in the malicious propaganda of any party adding that those leaders who are teaching the lesson of nationalism to us today were nowhere in scene when India was fighting for freedom and only Congress party did that fight.  

In his address All India Congress General Secretary Mr Harish Chaudhary also slammed the Akali, BJP and AAP leadership for working against interest of the state. He said that Mr Channi is the representative of the poorest of poor in the state. Mr Chaudhary also lauded the Channi government for initiating several pro-poor initiatives.

On the occasion, MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Mr Rajinder Beri, Mr Sushil Kumar Rinku, Mr Hardev Singh Laddi, Chaudhary Surinder Singh, former Ministers Mr Mohinder Singh Kay Pee, Mr Sarwan Singh Phillaur and Mr Amarjit Singh Samra, former MLA Mr Kanwaljit Singh Lally, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr Jagdish Raj Raja, Presidents of District Congress Committee Mr Balraj Thakur and Mr Darshan Singh Tahli, Acting Presidents Mr Harjinder Lada, Mr Nirmal Singh Nimma and Mr Ashwin Bhalla, President of Jalandhar Mahila Congress Dr Jasleen Sethi, President of District Youth Congress Mr Honey Joshi and Mr Angad Dutta along with others were also present.
