Punjab Chief Minister son Raninder Singh has been quizzed by the Enforcement Directorate at its Jalandhar office on Thursday for nearly 6 hours for his alleged involvement in the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violation case.
During the investigation, Raninder was asked 20 questions by the investigating agency. Though, a question pertaining to his involvement in the case was asked repeatedly.
While talking to media persons, Punjab CM's son said, "I am a law-abiding citizen, will appear before the agency when need be. I will fully cooperate with the ED in this case."
Raninder's family's alleged connection with the case and flow of forex contraventions and holding untaxed foreign assets was also questioned.
However, now it would be evident to see if ED would call Punjab CM to dive deep into the details of the case.
The summons issued to Raninder Singh had created a ruckus in the Congress party as the notices came when CM Capt Amarinder Singh made amendments in the Centre's farm laws to safeguard the interest of the state farmers.

While ED was grilling Raninder, BJP national president JP Nadda was virtually inaugurating 10 party offices in the state. BJP is gearing up for the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022 and has made it official that the party will contest all 117 seats.
And now, BJP is targeting Congress over the FEMA violation case and hooch tragedy.
According to the political experts, if two key issues would be investigated by the ED various Congress MLAs would be exposed for their alleged involvement which will taint the party's image by raising difficulties to win in Assembly Elections 2022.
