The much intensified
commotion in Punjab Congress is likely to come to a conclusion by July 8-10 as
the party chief Sonia Gandhi will take a final decision on the matter.
The information was shared by AICC general secretary in charge of the state unit Harish Rawat on June 23 after meeting Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
Harish Rawat has also said that the high powered panel, constituted by the AICC to end the party’s internal conflict in Punjab has held extensive discussions with CM Caption Amarinder Singh on June 22 over the 18 major promises made by the party in its 2017 election manifesto and its current status.
Notably the AICC panel has set a deadline for the Punjab CM to fulfill the remaining promises which includes justice in the Sacrilege case of Guru Granth Sahib, Kotkapura Firing Case, Drug Rackets, etc.
Assuring the intervention of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, Rawat said the panel has submitted its report on the structural, organizational and political issues related to Punjab and her decision is likely to be out by July 8-10.
In a meeting with Punjab CM, Rawat said, the panel has suggested Capt to take action against the sand and transport mafia; ensuring free 200 units of power per urban households in the state.

“Power is a big issue. Urban Punjab has complained of being disregarded in the matter. The AICC has instructed the Chief Minister to ensure free 200 units of power per urban household. We have also sought action on the delivery of SC scholarships, and loan waivers for the poor and Dalits, besides regularisation of land encroached by them,” Rawat said.
Rawat added that Capt has plans to bring down the sand mafia in the state to decontrol sand mining business and make sand a resource free for all in Punjab.
