Afraid of stern action, Inspector Parkash Singh has issued an apology for misbehaving with a businessman in Punjab’s Amritsar.

Earlier in the day, a Punjab Police officer allegedly slapped a man for violating curfew norms after which the video of the incident did round on the internet.

The man was identified as Raghav, who narrated his ordeal in another video claimed that he was aware of working amidst the restricted hours, however; his work was of utmost importance to be completed within the day.

However, when the video went viral, the cop’s behavior came under the radar of DGP Dinkar Gupta who said such misconduct will not be tolerated at any cost.

It may be noted here that after few hours, the ruckus came to an end followed by the various meetings of officials with Market Associations to open 50% shops on a rotational basis in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases. In the meeting, it was decided that on one day one side of the shops would open and on the next day the other side of the shops would open.

Today Inspector Parkash Singh was checking the enforcement of agreed guidelines in Guru Bazaar and he found that a shop on the prohibited side was opened by Mr. Raghav. Though it is not acceptable he slapped the owner of the shop Mr. Raghav.

Taking the cognizance of the matter ACP Central, Mr Parvesh Chopra held a meeting  with Mr Vinay, President of cloth merchant association Guru Bazar, and Mr. Ginni Bhatia from Karmo Deori Chowk and tried to bring the matter to an end. In the meeting, alleged Inspector was also present and he sought an apology from Mr. Raghav, who generously accepted it and said he doesn’t any further action to be taken against the cop.

President of cloth  Market Association Guru Bazar  Mr Vinay  Mehra and Mr. Ginni Bhatia President cloth merchant association Karmo Deori chowk has expressed satisfaction and the issue is closed.

It may be noted here that this is the third atrocity of Punjab Police in the past one week. Inspector Parkash Singh is fortunate enough that his matter got resolved otherwise he would either lost his job like SHO Phagwara or demotion like ASI Raj Kumar.
