Punjab: Coronavirus Vaccination gains momentum in SAS Nagar

The SAS district has held maximum sessions and vaccinated the second-highest number of HCWs in the state. The ADC, Aashika Jain informed that no side-effect of the vaccine has been reported, yet.

SAS Nagar, January 21: Overcoming the initial hesitation and qualms, the COVID19 vaccination is now gaining momentum in the district, informed Aashkia Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner(General) SAS Nagar.

Divulging details she said that on Thursday, January 21, district health officials organized vaccination at 14 session sites which is the highest in the State followed by Ludhiana second with 11 and Roopnagar third with 10 sessions while no other district in the state has reached the double-digit mark for the number of sessions conducted.

Further, by administering as many as 616 jabs in a day, the district has vaccinated a second-highest number of pre-registered Health Care Workers being closely at heels to Ludhiana where 673 HCWs were vaccinated. Pertinently, no other district in the state touched 500 marks in vaccine administration.

“No side effect of the vaccine has been reported from any of the beneficiaries till date in the district which has been a motivation for others to come up,” said Aashika Jain and added that apparently most of the doubts of people dispelled and we will see a still greater number of HCWs coming forward for vaccination.
