Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav & four other IPS officers empaneled for the rank of Director General by the Centre

The present DGP of the Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1992 batch.

On 3rd February, Monday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) cleared the empanelment of five IPS officers for holding top positions at the Centre. 

The list of officers empanelled for holding Director General (DG) and DG Equivalent post in Govt of India goes as follows.

DG and DG Equivalent:

  1. Nuzhat Hassan (IPS: 1991: AGMUT)
  2. Gaurav Yadav (IPS: 1992: PB) 

DG Equivalent:

  1. Ch. D. Tirumala Rao (IPS: 1989: AP)
  2. Aditya Misra (IPS: 1989: UP)
  3. Idashisha Nongrang (IPS: 1992: MN) 

DGP Gaurav Yadav is the only IPS officer from the 1992 batch to receive empanelment. With this, he becomes eligible for the position of Director General in any government agency.
