In a significant decision, the Punjab Education Department has decided that B.Ed pass candidates will no longer to able to apply for elementary posts in the state.

The decision would help the ETT pass candidates to have more vacancies in hand as there won't be any overlapping by B.Ed candidates for the posts meant for ETT teachers.
The Education Department has amended the rules to bar eligible B.Ed pass candidates from applying for the post of Primary Teacher.

It is pertinent to mention that ETT Unemployed Teachers were constantly protesting against the fact that only candidates of this level should be considered for the post of ETT.
