Following Odisha's footsteps, Punjab State government has extended the lockdown till May 1. Media Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced this via Twitter. He wrote, "Punjab cabinet led by @capt_amarinder decides to extend lockdown/curfew in the state till May 1, 2020z."

Previously, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder stated that lockdown will be lifted district wise. However, the lifting of lockdown will not be for everyone. As per Punjab CM, only farmers will get temporary relief from coronavirus lockdown restrictions to help them harvest crops.
