Punjab Free Electricity: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann fulfilled his pre-poll promise of free electricity after coming to power with a record majority. Providing free electricity in Punjab seemed like a dream of false promise of a poll candidate but Bhagwant Mann proved his word right and announced 300 units of free electricity just months after coming to power. Now, the Punjab Free Electricity impact is being seen on the ground and most of the common people are getting zero power bills in the state.
If seen in numbers, more than 90 percent of people are getting zero electricity bills. Getting 300 units of free electricity per month has made the lives of the people of Punjab happier. The money which people used to deposit to Powercom in the form of electricity bills, now people use this money to fulfill their other needs. Due to the continuous pro-people decisions taken by the government, the Bhagwant Mann government has made a place in the hearts of the people and the work done by the Chief Minister is being appreciated everywhere.
Not only this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has also resolved the problems faced by PNPDL in providing free electricity to the people. Not only has the electricity due to PNPDL been paid, but agreements have also been made with the companies to take free electricity.
As per reports, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) achieved a remarkable feat, registering a profit of Rs 804.94 crore for the FY 2023-24. Courtesy of the CM Mann-led Punjab Government that prioritized the timely payment of power subsidies to PSPCL. This was achieved due to the Mann Government providing much-needed financial relief to the corporation.
The intervention of the state government played a pivotal role in enhancing the revenue growth and pricing adjustments of the power company. This decision is particularly important given the long-standing challenges faced by the people of Punjab, who have been dealing with high electricity bills for more than 20 years. PSPCL has taken several proactive measures to efficiently control its power purchase expenses, thereby guaranteeing a reliable and cost-effective electricity supply for its customers.
