The Punjab Government has come up with a big decision regarding the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. According to the latest update by the government, Monday, April 14, which marks the birth anniversary of the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, has been declared a gazetted holiday.
According to the reports, the holiday has been declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881.
A copy of the declaration of the holiday has been sent to all the senior officials of the State of Punjab for any further necessary action. Reportedly, the copies are sent to all the Special Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries of Punjab, the Director, Information and Public Relations Department of Punjab - which has been asked to share the information with the general public through press, radio, and television.
Declaration of public holiday by the Central Government -
The Central Government of India has also announced a public holiday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, which states that to mark the occasion and to honor the father of the Indian Constitution, all the central government offices must remain closed, which includes all industrials under the Central Government and Central Government Welfare Committees will remain closed, across the country.
Along with this, the Reserve Bank of India has also informed us that on this day, the banks will remain closed, but the state government will make the final decision about the closure.
