Punjab government orders DCs to ensure timely arrival of tehsil officials amid public complaints

Due to the work not being done on time by the tehsil officers, people have to suffer a lot. Now, the Punjab government has issued new orders to all Deputy Commissioners (DC). All DCs have been told to ensure that the Sub-Registrar / Joint Sub-Registrar / Tehsildar / Naib Tehsildar will come to work on time in the morning.

Additional Chief Secretary of Punjab Government Anurag Verma said that it has come to his notice that many Sub-Registrars/Joint Sub-Registrars/Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars do not start verification of certificates on time, due to which the general public has to face problems. The officers do not start the verification of land registry or other documents on time as well.

DCs have been ordered that any Sub-Registrar/Joint Sub-Registrar/Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar who has the duty of verifying the certificates should be present in his office at sharp 9.00 am on that day. Apart from this, he should not be assigned duty anywhere else. All DCs have also been told to check the attendance of Sub-Registrars/Joint Sub-Registrars/Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars at 9 am.
