Punjab Govt sends second batch of Primary School Teachers to Finland for training

Punjab Government is fully prepared to send the second batch of teachers to Finland. Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, along with Finland’s Ambassador to India, Kimmo Lahdevirta, inaugurated a one-week training for the State’s primary school teachers. Earlier, from March 9 to March 15, 2025, 36 principals were sent to Singapore for training.

After inaugurating the training program, Harjot Singh Bains said this is the second batch of 72 teachers, which will depart to Finland on March 15 for a two-week training at the University of Turku under the knowledge exchange program.

Harjot Singh Bains stated that the Punjab government is also implementing a ‘Train the Trainer’ program to sustain and expand the impact of the training initiative. This program empowers selected teachers to become trainers themselves, enabling them to share their knowledge with other educators and create a cascading effect that will benefit the entire primary school education system in Punjab. This approach aims to create a long-term, self-sustaining model for improving education across the State, he added.

The initiative aims to equip teachers with innovative techniques and methodologies that align with modern education standards, said Bains, while emphasizing that the programs ultimate goal is to improve student outcomes by preparing teachers to meet the diverse needs of their classroom. By learning modern teaching techniques and methodologies, teachers will be better equipped students learning experience.
