The Punjab Government has issued an order directing Deputy Commissioners to make each CCTV camera operational at the Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar offices all across the state.
The government has installed a total of four CCTVs in every Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar office in the state, including two cameras installed inside the office and two outside the office. These CCTV cameras are installed so that the Deputy Commissioners can check that the availability and monitor the work of Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar.
As per the letter issued, a total of 180 cameras have been installed in these offices throughout Punjab. However, it has been found that out of 180 cameras only three cameras are working. Punjab government has ordered Deputy Commissioners to make each CCTV camera operational. They have been instructed to check live footages from the CCTV cameras.
Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Anurag Verma, has also been instructed to submit a report on the status of the cameras by 31st January. Deputy Commissioners are directed to take immediate action on this matter by 31st January in every Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar office of their district.
The government has also provided the contact details of person that can help in repairing these CCTV cameras. Additionally, all the CCTV cameras are linked with an IP address. Deputy commissioners are asked to access the CCTV of every Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar office of their district on their computer or mobile in order to check the attendance at any time.
Deputy commissioners are directed to check the CCTV of some Sub-Registrar and Joint Sub-Registrar offices in their district daily.
