Punjab Govt's Infra Push: Roads of Jalandhar, Amritsar, & Ludhiana to be upgraded within 8 months

In a boost for infrastructure in Punjab, the state government has decided to upgrade the roads of Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema announced that the people of Punjab will now be able to see sights of Germany, France, and Australia in Punjab itself. Finance Minister Harpal Cheema said that there are so many road accidents, and this project is being brought to reduce traffic problems. 

Road structure will be developed on the lines of the above-mentioned countries in the Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana districts of Punjab. While giving a new look to the roads of these cities, other facilities like benches for sitting on the side, street lights, bus stops, centres, charging system, etc will be available.

Separate lanes will be set up for all types of vehicles and pedestrians. Sign boards will be installed in the streets. Apart from this, the entire structure will also be updated with Google Maps. Harpal Cheema said that this project would be handed over to big companies related to road infrastructure, and feedback would also be taken from the people. Finance Minister Harpal Cheema said that the Punjab government has set a target of 8 months to complete this project.
