In a major political development, Minister of Finance of Punjab Harpal Singh Cheema has strongly and boldly criticized the previous Akali Dal-BJP government and held them responsible for increasing drug trafficking across the state. He also raised a question regarding the reduction of security of Akali leader Bikram Majithia.
The AAP government issued a statement recently about the security of the SAD leader and clarified that a few security personnel are still posted with Bikram Singh Majithia, and some are withdrawn.
Along with this, Cheema highlighted that from their administration, Akali leaders were having Prime Minister-level security, which was reduced.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the AAP government has been fighting against drug and drug smuggling in the state and will take strict action against the people who are involved in any such activity.
He also criticized the opposition parties, including SAD, BJP, and Congress, for their concerns over the reduction of security of one leader. In addition to this, he also blamed the opposition for not wanting the eradication of drugs from Punjab, which is one of the primary goals of the current government.
