Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to Punjab on 5 November 2022. As per the information, during his visit, PM will reach Dera Radha Soami Beas and his meeting with Dera Mukhi Gurinder Singh Dhillon is also on cards. It is being said that meeting will take place in a totally personalized manner for 1-1.5 hrs. Reportedly, the head of Dera Radha Soami was not well and got himself treated in Singapore and PM Modi was planning to meet him for a long time.
The sources reveal that meeting between PM Modi and Dera Mukhi Gurinder Singh Dhillon has been planned by a senior IPS officer who is for now at a high deputation at central level. The main motive behind this meeting is to improve the relations of people who are non-controversial with the Prime Minister. PM shares a cordial relation with state from long time back as he was also affairs in-charge of BJP in Punjab. At that time, he was also the National General Secretary and he has a clear idea of structural working in Punjab.
The sources further revealed that PM Modi wants to strengthen his relationship with higher official lobby so that he gets a strong hold on Punjab as well. It was during the passing of farm bills and farmers’ protest that the cordial relation between PM Modi and Punjab turned into a controversial one. The IPS organizing meeting wants PM’s relation with religious and socially active people to grow in the state.
There is a reason why only Dera Radha Soami was chosen as the best option for PM’s visit is although there are many Dera that have sprung up in state like Dera Sacha Sauda and Noor Mahal Dera.
Dera Sacha Sauda has always been in the controvert in Punjab but Dera Radha Soami is the most non-controversial and has no severe allegations upon it or any of workers working there. Dera Radha Soami, Beas has never interfered in ongoing politics. There is no denial of fact that workers working keep a check on which political parties’ people are followers of Dera but never comment of politics directly or indirectly.
Information has also come up that PM Modi has more planned visit to Punjab before 2024 during which he might also meet the heads of Ravidas Community. For now, it would not be right to point out whether PM’s visit to Punjab has any relation with the elections.
