Punjab’s legendary singer Hans Raj Hans was honoured in the Attlee Room at the House of Lords in London, England. He was honoured for his outstanding contributions to the music industry. The event was hosted by Lord Rami Ranger and was organized by Samara Events UK.

During the event, Padma Shri Awardee Raj Hans Raj also received a scarf. Following this, he thanked everyone and expressed his gratitude for being honoured in the Attlee Room. The Attlee Room at the House of Lords in the Parliament of England is named after Clement Attlee, who was the Prime Minister of the Labour Party from 1945 to 1951. He was known for the establishment of National Health Services and welfare state in the country.

Hans Raj Hans is so popular in England that almost around 90 percent of the tickets for his show, which is scheduled to be held on 21st December in Birmingham, have been already sold.

Hans Raj Hans is a 62-year-old Indian singer and politician. He is a recipient of the civilian honour of Padma Shri. He sings Punjabi folk and Sufi music. Hans has also released his own 'Punjabi-pop' albums. He has worked with other popular artists, such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the movie Kachche Dhaage.

He was born in the village of Shafipur, near to Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He graduated from DAV College, Jalandhar. In his teen years, Hans was trained in singing by Ustad Puran Shah Koti.

Hans has learned from music director Charanjit Ahuja. Following this, he started singing Punjabi folk, devotional, and Sufi music. He has also been an honorary music professor at Washington DC University and San Jose State University.

He has also sung in Bollywood movies such as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Mausam, Patiala House, Black & White, Bend It Like Beckham, 23 March 1931: Shaheed, Nayak, Jodi No. 1, Monsoon Wedding and Bichhoo.
