Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Sunday held a meeting at a local hotel regarding the bye-election to be held in the Jalandhar West constituency of Punjab. Many ministers and MLAs of the state attended the meeting, with whom CM Mann also discussed the major issues of the state and made further strategies regarding the bye-election.
CM Bhagwant Mann's meeting started at around 2 pm in a hotel located at BMC Chowk. Voting for Jalandhar West Bye-election will take place on July 10, 2024. In this meeting, it was also discussed with which issues the leaders will go among the people so that people vote only for the Aam Aadmi Party.
Punjab CM also told the leaders in a conversation how important the bye-election of the Jalandhar West constituency is for him. CM Mann also started a mission regarding the bye-election titled Jalandhar West Mission.
Also, it was written on the banner in the hall of the hotel that there will be AAP government and only AAP MLA. CM Mann told all the ministers that all the works of the government should be conveyed to the public so that the common people can benefit from it. Also, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann made it clear that he will personally monitor all the campaigns. So that it can be told to the people how the AAP government is doing great work for the state. In the end, CM Mann stressed to the leaders that there should not be any kind of differences in the party. CM Mann has urged the people to strictly refrain from rumors like differences in the party.
Various senior leaders including MP Malvinder Singh Kang, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhariwal, MP Meet Hayer, Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat, Minister Baljit Kaur were present in the CM's meeting held in Jalandhar.
Why bye-election is taking place in Jalandhar West?
For the unversed, just before the Lok Sabha elections, on March 27, Sheetal Angural joined the BJP. After this, he resigned from the post of MLA. But on May 29, Angural had decided to withdraw his resignation. On May 30, Angural wrote a letter to the Speaker to withdraw his resignation.
However, on June 3, the Speaker had called Angural for talks on the resignation. But on May 30, Angural's resignation was accepted. On this, Angural had talked about filing a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
