Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday convened a high-level meeting with DCs and SSPs of the state in Chandigarh. CM Mann, during the meeting, directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPS to identify drug hotspots in Punjab, identify the supply chain, and even break it. The Meeting was called under the leadership of the Chief Minister to finalize a multi-dimensional strategy aimed at combating drug abuse. The meeting focused on developing a comprehensive action plan to tackle the growing menace of drugs in the region.
Key officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), were directed to collaborate closely for effective execution. The Deputy Commissioners have also been instructed to transform the anti-drug movement into a mass campaign, engaging the public in the fight against drug abuse. On the ground, district-level operations will be launched with full force to combat the drug problem and to eradicate this menace from the region.
