Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann made his intentions clear after coming to power that he would reshape the healthcare infrastructure of the state. To improve the health infrastructure of Punjab and reduce the burden on government hospitals, the Bhagwant Singh Mann government brought the Aam Aadmi Clinic.
Seeing the success of Aam Aadmi Clinics in the state, in September 2024, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated 30 new 'Aam Aadmi Clinics'. During this, he fiercely attacked the opposition parties. He said that people jealous of peace, progress, and prosperity in Punjab are spreading rumors against him to derail the development of the state. He says that he is working to ensure the well-being of the state and the prosperity of the people here.
Aam Aadmi Clinics features
Aam Aadmi Clinic facilities include free treatment, medical tests, and medicines. In these clinics, a team of experienced doctors, nurses, and other medical staff diagnose and treat patients for their problems. The initiative aims to reduce congestion in big hospitals and make access to healthcare easier.
Dr. Shinam Sood of Malowal's Aam Aadmi Clinic was quoted saying that there are four major posts in their clinic - doctor, pharmacist, clinic assistant and rank four staff. He said that people have benefited a lot from the Aam Aadmi clinics opened in the villages. Thanking the Punjab government, he said that this initiative has not only increased the reach of health services but also provided employment to the younger generation.
One of the locals at Aam Aadmi Clinic outlined that people do not need to go to the city for medicine. Earlier it was a difficult task for the elderly to go to the city, but now all the necessary medical facilities are available in the village itself.
Future of Aam Aadmi Clinics
The Punjab government plans to expand this initiative further in the next few years and set up more Aam Aadmi clinics in every city and village. This scheme will not only increase the reach of health services but will also make it easier to solve the health problems of the people.
