Under the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic's initiative, multiple Mohalla clinics have been set up across the state, providing basic medical services to local residents near their homes. This step is proving to be beneficial, especially for the economically weaker sections.
Talking about Punjab Mohalla Clinics facilities, it provides free treatment, medical tests, and medicines. In these clinics, a team of experienced doctors, nurses, and other medical staff diagnose and treat patients for their problems. Dr. Shinam Sood of Malowal Mohalla Clinic was quoted saying that there are four major posts in their clinic - doctor, pharmacist, clinic assistant and rank four staff. He said that people have benefited a lot from the Mohalla clinics opened in the villages. Thanking the Punjab government, he said that this initiative has not only increased the reach of health services but also provided employment to the younger generation.
One of the locals at Mohalla Clinics outlined that people do not need to go to the city for medicine. Earlier it was a difficult task for the elderly to go to the city, but now all the necessary medical facilities are available in the village itself.
