Ladowal Toll Plaza Free: In a major development, Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza, Ladowal Toll Plaza on the National Highway, will stop collecting toll fees indefinitely. The announcement comes after a special meeting held by the Toll Plaza Workers Union Punjab, chaired by union president Darshan Singh Ladi.
The workers have been protesting against management for months, citing unfulfilled demands, including the lack of basic benefits such as government holidays, PF contributions, ESI, and welfare schemes. Frustrated by the company’s inaction, the workers have decided to halt toll collection until their demands are met.
Ladi stated that despite repeated meetings with company officials, no efforts have been made to address the grievances of the toll plaza employees, leading to this indefinite closure. From tomorrow onwards, all vehicles will pass through the Ladowal Toll Plaza without paying any toll charges
