In a recent statement to the press, Rajesh Kumar, the secretary general of Petrol Pump Dealers’ Association Punjab (PPDAP) announced that there call to strike or agitation given by the PPDAP from February 15 to 22. He further explains that talks were being held to increase the dealer margin according to their demands with the next meeting scheduled to be held on February 22 at Mumbai.
This follows after information was received that the PPDAP will stop Petrol & Diesel sale on February 22 and no oil will be purchased from the oil companies on February 16 and 15. This was due to the association’s dismay at the non-increase with the dealer margin since August 2017.
PPDAP President Doaba said that oil marketing Companies (OMCs) have not been increasing the margin of petroleum dealers, which was last revised in August 2017. A demand letter was sent to the presidents of the oil companies to increase the dealer margin and a copy was also sent to the Prime Minister.
