Punjab has been witnessing constant rain for the past two days in its multiple districts. The bordering state has been put on high alert as a flood-like situation is knocking on the doors of Punjab. While a breach in SYL submerged Rajpura's Chitkara University and many areas in heavy water. Now, the Punjab Police Academy of Phillaur, Jalandhar has also been submerged in the heavy water. Punjab Police Academy (PPA) which is situated in Jalandhar's Phillaur was flooded with water on Monday. As per reports. PPA Phillaur flooding took place due to a breach in the Sutlej River dam. Sutlej River dam is adjacent to the fort of Maharaja Ranneet Singh of PPA Academy of Phillaur city of Jalandhar.

Now, there are multiple worrisome videos have surfaced from PPA Phillaur. In the videos, it can be seen multiple vehicles totally submerged in water. As per the latest information received, a rescue operation is being carried out by the Army and jawans in the PPA Phillaur. Furthermore, efforts are being made to pump out the water and pull out the vehicles submerged in the water. At least a dozen vehicles have been submerged in water.

What the Punjab Government is doing to control the flood-like situation?

As per reports, on the direction of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Secretary Anurag Verma called a meeting of officers of all departments. While writing this report, Punjab Chief Secretary's meeting with the officers was underway as it started around 10 am in the morning. Not only higher officials, Regional officers also connected through Video Conferences. Notably, Punjab's Chief Secretary in his order had stated that the officers of all the departments including police, power, administration, and agriculture must be present to address the flood threat and the state's preparedness to counter it. Notably, Orange alert has been issued for East Malwa on Monday, while there is a yellow alert for Doaba, under which it will rain heavily in the coming few hours.
